Owned and operated by the Parrsborough Shore Historical Society, Ottawa-House-by -the-Sea is one of Nova Scotia's oldest buildings. It was enlarged to become the summer home of Prime Minister Sir Charles Tupper and then a summer hotel before becoming a museum which now showcases the rich social and cultural history of this area. It is open daily from June through September and at other times by appointment. Its archives contain a rich collection of genealogical and historical materials.

Established around 1700, this historical site was once home to Charles Tupper, an early Canadian Prime Minister.
The Ottawa House By-The-Sea Museum is owned and operated by the Parrsborough Shore Historical Society. Ottawa House represents an important segment of Cumberland County’s history at the time of Confederation and illustrates mid-eighteenth century architecture, economic and cultural development. It is believed to be the oldest building on the Parrsboro Shore and one of the oldest in the province of Nova Scotia. Great place for History buffs:)
