+351 924 403 921 The Gruta das Torres Visitor Center is an example of sustainable use of a natural resource for recreational purposes and environmental awareness, as the visit does not disturb its natural elements. Gruta das Torres is the largest lava tube in Portugal, with a length of 5150 meters, forming part of the Lajidos - Gruta das Torres formation, inserted in the Mountain Volcanic Complex. It is estimated that it formed around 1500 years ago during an eruption originating in Cabeço Bravo. The visit is absolutely pioneering in Portugal, following the cavity along 450 meters and lasting approximately one hour.
