If you want an Icelandic hand-knitted sweater go to the Handknitting Association of Iceland, it is on Skólavörðustígur 19, a “side” street that runs almost parallel to Laugavegur. Members of the Association knit the sweaters and accessories. Membership it is by invitation only.

If you want authentic hand made wool stuff.... I would only go here to buy it in Reykjavík.
