Centuries of history are packed into a 10-acre site at Burnaby Village Museum. The village is an open-air museum with 38 exhibits to explore, including period-specific homes, businesses and a traditional schoolhouse. The Museum also offers a space for visitors to learn about First Nations, whose relationship with the land predates the arrival of colonial settlers. At the Indigenous learning house, visitors will form a better understanding of the significance of the land from an Indigenous perspective. The crown jewel of the Burnaby Village Museum is the restored 1912 C.W. Parker Carousel, which visitors can ride for $2.65. Next to the carousel, visitors can browse the gift shop for historical trinkets and treasures.

Take a walk back to see life in the 1920's as you walk through a historic village and learn how local life was nearly 100 years ago. Don't forget to ride the carousel and have an ice cream at the ice cream parlor! The museum is open seasonally through the summer and during Christmas. I highly suggest going during both seasons if you have the opportunity. Admission is free.
