One of the biggest swimming pools/water parks in Iceland. A very popular place, with a number of hot tubs, sauna, and swimming lanes. Remember to bring a towel and swimwear.

If you haven´t been to Icelandic Swimming pool you should try one. More like a miny waterpark and a spa with Geothermal warm water in all pools. This one is one of the best in Iceland. For more private and quiet thermal pools with better scenery try Hrafnagil swimmingpool or Þelamörk both 10 km outside of Akureyri.

Thermal pools - find as many of them as you can! Hot tubs, saunas, steam baths, cold tubs, slides and swimming pools. It's the all Icelandic way. We love it and go everyday of the year. *The trend now is to go to the hottest tub (42°+) and from there to the cold tub and stay for 1-3 minutes. This back and forth routine is sure to set you straight for the day or the best nights sleep. Said to work wonders for ache, inflammation, hung over, arthritis, lymphatic and immune systems. Akureyri Swimming Pool /Thermal Pool is a wonderful place with two outdoor swimming pools, 25 and 50 m, water slides and childrens pool, several jacuzzis and a sauna / steambath. It is a great for swimming, relaxing and freshening up after long days og travelling and is open until 21:00 weeknights year round. The swimming pools in Iceland are also a place to meet people, chat and discuss politics.
