Yerkes is known as the birthplace of modern astrophysics. One of two places Albert Einstein was said to want to see in America on his first visit, its grounds are spectacular.

The Yerkes Observatory has undergone some major refurbishment and is located just at the end of the Parkhurst Ave which runs along the side of the Starlake property. A nice stroll to see a true wonder of 19th century architecture, also visited by Albert Einstein!
