A heritage site linked to the origins of the Soweto Uprisings and its aftermath.
Do this whilst you do a Soweto tour in a taxi (organised tour). Brilliant tour to see the history of South Africa and get to see where Madiba stayed etc.
Great place to get more information about how the youth fought to be free and do away with being forced to learn afrikaans
The Hector Pieterson memorial and museum were established in order to honour the role of the country's students in the struggle against apartheid. The two commemorative sites are just few blocks from where Hector Pieterson was shot on 16 June 1976.
