Almost all the car rentals are located in Hilo. Most of them are at the airport to make it easy on travelers. I think having a car is the best way to go on the Big Island. It can get very expensive to rent a car in this area.

Budget as well as many other car rentals are available at the Hilo International Airport. Ohana in Paradise is 25 miles from the Hilo International Airport. Take Route 11 to Keaau, HI and Route 130 to Pahoa and Ohana In Paradise.
