Lixouri, also called by the locals "the small Paris" is the second biggest city in Kefalonia and the hometown of poet and sarcastic author Andreas Laskaratos. You can reach Lixuri by car (~30 min) or by ferry (20 min) from Argostoli. Ferry run every 20 min or half-hour during summer. In Lixouri, you will find bars, pastry and coffee shops, restaurants and boutique and touristic shops, most of which are located next to the water and around the square.
