The Greyton Nature Reserve is, arguably, Greyton’s greatest asset. The reserve is 2200 hectares in extent and is the third largest Nature Reserve in the Cape. It has never been properly explored and according to Professor Rycroft, contains plants that have not been seen since they were described by Burchell in 1812. Many trails provide beautiful scenery as well as waterfalls, pools, plant and bird life. Entrance at the end of Park Street within walking distance from 4 On Regent.

There are several Hiking trails in Greyton- some very short and others with varying levels of difficulty. and distance. One of the favorites is the Bosmanskloof Trail- Turn left at the bottom of the whimsical green stairs from Bird's View Cottage and a short walk will take you to the entrance of the nature reserve where the trail is clearly marked. It's beautiful- birds, fynbos and a flowing rivers and a waterfall.
