This multi-faceted attraction allows you to experience nature and history in one place! This 1300+ acre forest offers rivers, wetlands, 15 miles of groomed well marked trails and multiple historic buildings. Step back in time in their 19th century farmhouse and one room school house, a sugar shack where live maple syrup demonstrations are performed in the spring, a wigwam which also hosts educational events. The well thought out visitor center is expansive offering a panoramic overlook of the Pine river, meeting rooms, children's activities, short educational videos, and the star of this show is the the hands on interactive gallery! Here you can push the button and not get in trouble :) Open drawers and explore! Make your way to the back and take in the sights and sounds of nature delivered by a one way picture window and speakers allow the sounds of outdoors to fill the room while you stay warm and cozy or cool and comfortable :) So relaxing you may not want to leave however this gallery is open from 8-5 Mon-Sat and 12-5 Sundays. Enjoy the trails dawn to dusk! There is no cost to utilize the grounds or enter the visitor center however this is a non profit so donations are graciously accepted. Some events may have a cost associated with them such as kayaking. Checkout their website for events! Nature park by the river with trails and exhibits. You can actually bike here from the tridge but may want a guide to do this since the path may be confusing if it’s your first time.
