Elegant, charming and quiet. Via Giulia is one of the most beautiful streets in Rome because of its intact baroque and "papal" atmosphere (Pope Giulio II needed a larger street for its coach!)
Via Giulia was designed by Bramante and built by the will of Pope Julius II and runs parallel to the Tiber and connects the area directly behind the Palazzo Farnese towards Castel Sant'Angelo. This route was intended to facilitate pilgrims to reach the Vatican more easily. The road covered with cobblestones is almost one kilometer long and is quiet and collection of Renaissance style surrounded by elegant palaces of Roman nobility and antique shops that still stand the test of time.
