If you enjoy the natural bush of New Zealand take a hike up to the Wairere Falls. Magnificent views surrounded by idyllic nature scenes. Warier Falls is the highest waterfall in N.Z's North Island, plunging 153 metres over the Kaimai escarpment. Not suitable for wheel chairs or push chairs.

This walking track runs from the car park at the end of Goodwin Road, up the valley along the stream to a viewing platform, and then to the top of the plateau and the crest of the Wairere Falls which is the highest waterfall in New Zealand's North Island, plunges 153 metres (500 feet) in two steps over the Kaimai escarpment.

Wairere Falls, the highest waterfall in New Zealand's North Island, plunges 153 metres (500 feet) in two steps over the Kaimai escarpment. The Wairere Falls are set amongst the beautiful bush of the Kaimai Ranges. The two sections of the walk through groves of native trees provide spectacular views of the falls and the district. Walking time 1.5 hours, can be a little muddy if wet and a medium level of fitness required.....but well worth the walk.
