Acrocorinth was fortified in ancient times, and its defences were maintained and developed during the Byzantine, Frankish, Turkish, and Venetian periods. Its walls now measure almost two kilometers in length.

A wonderful castle located on the top of a big rock/hill/mountain of 575 meters hight, with a magnificent view of the entire area of Corinth. Wear flat shoes or trekking shoes to make sure you can walk the entire area of the castle and visit all sides to see the various views of all the surroundings. Choose a day with clear skies to enjoy the view of the entire Corinthian bay, faciing the mount Gerania overlooking Loutraki city, and on the west side, the view of the Saronic bay with the islands of Salamina and Aegina.
