Five minutes drive from Lilac Lodge you can park your car at Great Hockham picnic area and explore Thetford Forest. At the end of Pockthorpe Lane go straight across, past the millenium green bearing right past the church following a few bends in the road until you reach the main Watton to Thetford Road. Turn right here and follow the main road past Gt Hockham. Just past Hockham on your right is the picnic area and entrances to Thetford forest.

Great Hockham Picnic Site is perfect for a short walk amongst the trees on a choice of two waymarked trails and for enjoying a picnic in the forest. (Great Hockham 4 miles away)
