Great place for a picnic—the grass is green all year long. On many weekends you can find pristine lowriders showing off and stretching down the whole street with families bbqing.

Walk around the park. Lot's of open space for picnicking. On a Sunday you might catch a lowrider meet-up. Bring food from Cookbook and wine or beer from Sunset Beer.

Baxter Street leads up to a l-o-n-g- flight of stairs that in turn leads up to Park Drive, overlooking Elysian Park and Dodger Stadium. If you head left on Park Drive for a block or so, you'll see a couple of small dirt path leading down to a well-worn hiking trail around the park. Take it. Vistas abound.

There are many trails to discover in Elysian Park. One leads you to a birds eye view of the Dodgers stadium. Happy hunting.
