Becuna was finally decommissioned on November 7, 1969, after 25 years of service. She was made a museum in July 1976 as part of Philadelphia's celebration of the Bicentennial Celebration of the Declaration of Independence and moved to Penn's Landing to sit beside Cruiser Olympia.
