Pipeline Park is accessed via a small catwalk on top of a pipeline that cuts across a section of the James River in Richmond, Virginia. The walkway is just above water level, and occasionally below it when the flow is high. On a small island just across from the pipeline is a large Great Blue Heron rookery, where dozens of herons nest and raise their chicks.

If you take the trail to the left, then stairs to the right, it leads you to some of the best rapids in all of Richmond, nice beach area to lay out in and swim as well, hidden secret spot!

Walk down the Pipeline to the coolest urban swimming holes you'll find. Take a couple beers (cans) and wear your bathing suit! The river used to be really dirty in the 90s but this area is now a vibrant habitat for a lot of birds, including Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagles, and Osprey!

See that pipeline with the catwalk on top of it, underneath those train tracks, right next to the river? Go walk on it and find yourself a good rock.
