Just north of downtown, the Plateau Mont-Royal is home to the city's creative hub. Full of parks, trendy restaurants, cozy cafés, and all kinds of boutiques. The Plateau is full of both family-friendly spots and solo-friendly spots alike.

This is one of MTL's most well-known neighbourhoods, which offers an abundance of restaurants, pubs, shops, etc. You could easily spend a day wondering around and exploring. Streets not to miss are Saint-Laurent, Mont-Royal and Laurier. There are also several smaller, quaint streets in the heart of the Plateau that offer a unique experience: Deluth and Prince Arthur.

This neighborhood is great for some of the most famous and oldest Montréal foods, and it's mostly french. you'll find Schwartz smoked meat, St Viateur bagels and La Banquise Poutine there. You will definitely meet someone that visited Montreal at some point and they will ask you if you've been to one of those restaurants.

Many of Montreal’s best parks are on the Plateau, including La Fontaine, Laurier, and Mont-Royal (known to locals as “the mountain”), and for shopping, there’s Saint-Laurent, Saint-Denis, and Mount Royal streets. And if you want to keep the excitement going, the Plateau is conveniently located near both Old Montreal and the festivals of Quartier des Spectacles.
