Akasaka Aono Main Store

Sleek and clean, this shop is synonymous with Akasaka mochi, a soft, sweet rice cake covered in roasted soybean powder and beautifully wrapped in a furoshiki-style package. They also add black sugar for extra sweetness. It’s a short walk from the Midtown lawn in Roppongi, where I recommend you sit to eat your mochi while people watching. Steve Jobs used to always order these to be delivered from Japan, and that only made them more famous.
