A drive over the moors away, this is my favourite place. The views are stunning. There is a circular walk around the reservoir over two dams which takes about 1.5hrs (7.5km) - for the more adventurous you can add on the loop around the second reservoir too! Toilets on site and occasionally the cafe is open but don’t rely on it.

One of our favourites on foot or bike. You can walk on a good solid lane or right around over the fields following the footpath.

Amazing scenery! Whether it's your first time or you're experienced in canoeing, Scar House Reservoir is a picturesque location to learn new or develop previous skills. What a place to watch wildlife too! Curlews, oystercatchers, dippers and Red Kite are easily spotted. No previous experience is necessary with canoeing or other outdoor adventure activities. How Stean Gorge provides all safety equipment and can teach canoeing for all abilities – making this an ideal activity for people of any age or skill level.

Scar House Reservoir is the second of the three reservoirs in Upper Nidderdale, England, the others being Angram Reservoir and Gouthwaite Reservoir. Between them they attract around 150,000 visitors a year. Angram and Scar House were built to supply water to the Bradford area of West Yorkshire, England.
