As soon as I walk into this charming retro diner on rue Lepic in Montmartre, I’m reminded of all my favorite actors who appear in scenes here, like the boss of the café in Amélie, played by Claire Maurier, who was also in François Truffaut’s 400 Blows, and, of course, the waitress Amélie herself, played by the talented Audrey Tautou. In the restrooms you’ll find objects from the film Amélie, like the garden gnomes she pretends to take pictures of all around the world.

Set off for the familiar cobblestone streets of Rue Lepic where the historic Café des Deux Moulins still stands, between flower shops and memories of the curious Amélie Poulain. Though a common ground for film fans and Moulin Rouge tourists, the red booths of the interior café and its traditional French brasserie menu are a must for the experience of coffee-drinking and people-watching at a typical Parisian café.

If you like Amelie, you should go. The owner didn't take advantage of Amelie's film to put crazy prices. P.S.: Don't miss the bathroom ;)
