Nearby is one of our family's favorite restaurants called "El Indio," inexpensive, quick and really good. They make their own chips (it's off Washington Blvd).

also walking distance and right down the hill, as seen on diners drive ins and dives for it's tamales. Pretty decent mexican food. I like the fish burrito but never had the tamales. If you do, let me know if they live up to the hype!
