Everyone loves a shipwreck!! I love this one as its right on the beach..... There is a great write up on how it came to rest on the beach. You will find the information on the main road above the wreck.

This was the first gunboat in Queensland's projected Navy. In 1958, the Town Council purchased the Gayundah and beached her in her current location to serve as a breakwater.

Great piece of history run aground after scrapping 60 years (1958) ago by the Redcliffe Town Council. She was an ex Queensland Maritime Defence Force then a Royal Australian Navy vessel before 'Retiring' as a sand barge. You can read all about it on site (up top near the road) very interesting.
