1 block and take a left at Chetwood and there will be 2 entrances on each side, at the end of the block. A great place for a quick stroll. There's also a pond with ducks if you want to take your children there to see them. Small children love this space. Also, if you want to get a quick workout in this is a good place for, meditation, yoga and/or using the steps for running.

A local historic theater that you don't want to miss if you're out and about for a movie. On Tuesdays I believe it's also free popcorn and there may be a discount on the ticket price. But check their website to double check.

A local mini theme park located about 1 mile from the house. My grandmother took me here as a kid and I did the same with mine. You'll love the puppet show, train, mini ferris wheel and there are also goats and a donkey. A perfect place for your little ones and not too expensive.
To walk there, you can take Bonham Way to Grand, to Lake Merritt. Just make sure to stay on the Grand Ave side of the Lake. On your way there's also a park, nature center and boat dock, where you can rent paddle boats and other types of pleasure craft. You'll love Fairyland and the food isn't too expensive either.

If you're here on a Sat you don't want to miss the local Farmer's Market. There's a kids section with slides, plenty of food stands and all the fresh food you can handle. The hours are from 8 am to 3 pm I believe. But don't quote me on that. It's located in Splash Pad Park across from the Grand Lake Theater.
