Service is not the best, but if you can overlook that, this is a great place to hangout. I prefer this place when it's not busy. It can be a lovely place to indulge in a book while sipping on a cocktail.
Go on a Wednesday and you'll think me. The Treme brass band plays there and it usually turns into a party. They also serve red beans and rice.

Here you have a very chill dive atmosphere with bar patrons from all walks of life...and yet the tapas here can compete with some of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I'm a few blocks away from the Jeff Davis trail which takes you to city park. If you have a bike...this is a beautiful ride along the bayou. If you're a walker or a jogger...this offers a lovely walk/jog. I walk to city park all the time. You can also take the Carrollton street car if you don't want to walk or bike.
