Follow the main streets of the City Centre to the Burnie foreshore, the City by the Sea. West Beach is a block from the central business district and is connected by boardwalk to the Makers' Workshop and the penguin habitat on the western end of the beach.

A 20 minute scenic drive south of Burnie past the township of Ridgley, Guide Falls is the most accessible waterfall in the Burnie hinterland. Car parking just within the reserves entrance provides a wonderful picnic area with BBQ facilities and toilets. Take the easy 10 minute walk to the base of the waterfalls. Climb the steep stairs to the viewing platform for a birdseye view of the falls. Dog friendly walk. Additional vehicle access to the top of the falls ensures easy access for all.
