A beautiful playground, splash pad, small beach (with some fun driftwood huts), reserve, a walking track along the sea and river (see if you can spot the kiwi statues dotted along the path), BBQ's, etc. Gorgeous spot with amazing views.
Stop at Muriwai's cave on the right hand side just before you get to the Heads playground, for a small dose of local history.

Walk down from the cliff top or across the track from West End Beach to get to this beautiful beach, which is only accessible by foot. Breathtaking views,a small waterfall and you might even see a blue penguin (there is a colony living just out from the bay).
