40.5 kms Avon Valley Golf and Country Club was established in 1971 following the closing of the former Windsor nine hole course near Fort Edward. Play started in 1973 with a nine-hole layout although 12 holes had by then been completed. It has since grown to a challenging and very well groomed 18 hole course. Hilly terrain, fast and subtle greens and the occasional variable breezes always call for strategy to score well. Constant improvement over the years (a new hole in ’95, the new Clubhouse in ’07, a new practice area in ’09 and much more) have enhanced the challenge and enjoyment of an already beautiful course. Avon Valley is noted for peak conditions, friendly staff and friendly members who make visitors feel welcome. We usually operate from about mid- April until late October or early November, depending on weather conditions.

Only Nova Scotia can offer an adventure like rafting the tidal bore. We offer some of the most experienced, knowledgeable, and well-trained guides on the river. With a focus on safety, our tours are exciting and action-packed from start to finish. Experience the excitement and the rush of the incoming tide which can rise nearly 30ft in only 3 hours! 78 kms Our tours include mud sliding, riding the bore, and riding the roller coaster rapids! 236, Green Oaks, Nova Scotia Fundy Tidal Bore Adventures is a family-run premium rafting company. Our focus is safety and giving you the very best adventure experience possible. No paddling required! We provide guided tours on custom zodiacs. Just hold on and enjoy the ride! Tidal Bore rafting is the ultimate epic adventure all created by the unique phenomenon known as the Tidal Bore. The water from the Bay of Fundy gets funneled into the shallow Shubenacadie River channels to create a surge of water. The front wave of this surge is known as the Tidal Bore. There are very few places in the world that have a tidal bore and even fewer that can compare in size! After the tidal bore goes by the river reverses direction and starts flowing inland at nearly 30km/hr. It is because of the huge volume of water forcing its way into the shallow waters that creates our rapids ranging from 4-12ft standing waves! Tidal Bore Rafting is a unique adventure found only in Nova Scotia. This adventure is for everyone! We have a lot of flexibility in the intensity of the trips. Bigger tides will produce bigger waves and faster water. Lower tides will produce smaller waves and the water is not moving quite as fast. No matter what size tide, the guide has full control of the zodiac, and can tailor the trip for you.

Take a day trip to Grand Pre. 54 kms. Situated in the southern Minas Basin of Nova Scotia, the Grand Pré marshland and archaeological sites constitute a cultural landscape bearing testimony to the development of agricultural farmland using dykes and the aboiteau wooden sluice system, started by the Acadians in the 17th century and further developed and maintained by the Planters and present- day inhabitants. Over 1,300 ha, the cultural landscape encompasses a large expanse of polder farmland and archaeological elements of the towns of Grand Pré and Hortonville, which were built by the Acadians and their successors. The landscape is an exceptional example of the adaptation of the first European settlers to the conditions of the North American Atlantic coast. The site – marked by one of the most extreme tidal ranges in the world, averaging 11.6 m – is also inscribed as a memorial to Acadian way of life and deportation, which started in 1755, known as the Grand Dérangement.
