You don’t need to go all the way to Ottawa to skate on a canal! Trent Canal is a perfect destination for ice skating. Park on Armour Road, just south of Hunter Street and get to the ice within a minute. Make sure to pay attention to the colour of the flag mounted beside the canal. A green flag will indicate that the canal is open and a red flag will signify closure.

These caves were formed thousands of years ago at the end of the last ice age. Make sure you are properly prepared to explore the caves. Wear sturdy shoes, clothing that you don’t mind dirtying and use a flashlight or headlamp. There are admission fees to enter the park; for day use permits it is $18 per car, $9 per walk-in adult and $5 per walk-in child.
