The apartment overlooks Delft's Paardenmarkt. Lined with national monuments, including the old artillery school in which the loft is located, Paardenmarkt is in the center of Delft, a casual 5 min walk from the central square. The area is hip, with great restaurants and bars.

A bit about where you are
Delft is a special city in the Netherlands. Its historic centre dates back to the 13th Century. It is The Netherland's Royal City. Willem of Oranje held court in Delft and he is buried in the Nieuwe Kerk (1584). The church remains the final resting of all members of the Royal Family since then. The Oude Kerk (1325 - 1350), with its famous leaning tower, is witness to the Golden Age of Delft and the Netherlands. The famous Dutch Buccaneers (Zeehelden) were laid to rest here, as was the painter Vermeer. His painting of the Oostport (in this image) is as renowned as his painting of the Girl with the Pearl Earring. Delft has it all -- history, beautiful old buildings, canals, a young and vibrant atmosphere that centers on good coffee and food. Come and enjoy it!

A vast stretch of sand invites all sorts of activities, from sun baking to BBQing on the beach and of course swimming. There are very nice beach restaurants as well, serving good food and wine for a relaxed afternoon in the sun.
