Nice small swedish beach in lake garnsviken. Has a small parking spot. You are able to row here from our jetty. The canal is the remains of the Långhundraleden waterway, which the Vikings traveled on when they wanted to get from the Baltic Sea to Uppsala.

Wira Mill, located 20 km north of Åkersberga, was one of Sweden's most important weapons forges during the time of great power. Today, Wira is a living working environment with smithies and cottages along the Wira River.
Today, Wira Mill is an idyll with well-preserved forges and red cottages. But during the 17th century, the mill was one of Sweden's most important weapons forges. Among other things, swords that Charles XII's men used in the war were forged here.

Arcipelago
From the start of Siaröfort's construction in 1916 until the 1950s, Kyrkogårdsön between Ljusterö and the mainland was a secret place with a disembarkation ban for all but the military. But the new defense facility was rejected due to excessively damp accommodation inside the mountain. So overnight stays for conscripts were prohibited inside the fort during peacetime. When World War II broke out in 1939, the fort was considered outdated. However, the facility was used for military exercises until the 1960s, when it was abandoned and began to fall into disrepair. But in the 1990s, Siaröfort was converted into a museum and opened to visitors.
The museum offers a unique and exciting insight into the coastal defenses of the time, with cannons and anti-aircraft guns above ground and everything from battle command centers to kitchens and lodgings embedded in the mountain underground. The Siaröfort is just as exciting for adults as it is for children.
Both guided tours and self-discoveries with audio guides are offered here. The old accommodation building above ground is now a hostel and restaurant with conference facilities. There is also a guest harbour, sea sauna, cliffs and sandy beach.
Siaröfort is 1 hour and 45 minutes from Stockholm, 35 minutes from Åkersberga and about an hour from Norrtälje.

Antrophia rederi - m/s Korsön from Vaxholm or tour boats.
The yellow boat offers boat taxis, transport and tours in the northern Stockholm archipelago.

It is a popular and well-visited destination that offers hotels, hostels, guest harbors and cabins for rent, as well as a country store, ice cream stand, café and restaurant. As well as farming, grazing land, bare cliffs and lush greenery to wander through.
It was the director of the Nobel Foundation, Henrik Santesson, who in 1906 bought Grinda and had a thousand square meter Art Nouveau palace built as a summer residence for himself and his family. The large stone villa today forms Grinda Wärdshus.
The whole of Grinda is today a nature reserve, with agriculture and animal husbandry as prerequisites for the landscape to be kept open and alive. Coniferous forest, leafy groves, open farmland and grazing animals with chickens frolicking make the walk across the island, between Grinda's two piers, a crowd pleaser.
The concept for Grinda in summer also includes a varied range of activities, such as music evenings, regattas and barbecue evenings.
