This is the best and most authentic Indian food around. We are lucky we live in a pretty diverse area of the city with a lot of unique tastes close by. Everything on the menu is amazing, fresh, delicious! We held our engagement reception here in 2019 and the owners did a fabulous job decorating and providing incredible service and food!

My partner and I play a game where we try random little restaurants like this, and this one was a huge hit. Highly recommend the corn soup if you're feeling adventurous, I thought it was a warm cinnamon drink and boy was I surprised to taste corn! The pupusas are incredible, especially the steak one. They have veggie options too!

This is a local dive bar just a block from our house. Cheap drinks and a heavy pour. Complimentary popcorn, cheap hotdogs and nachos. We sometimes bring a board game and share a pitcher for a low-key date night. Or, grab a cheap cocktail to start us off before a night on the town.

Brand new coffee and cocktail place just down the street! We are SO excited to have good coffee within walking distance of our home! Their flatbreads and open-faced bagels are also very yum.

This is a nice big park with lots to offer. Great space to run around with kiddos, play discs, bring your pup, have a picnic, etc.

This is a dog park. It isn't advertised as one, but it is. There are dog drinking fountains, large green spaces, poop bags provided. It's the best place in the area to let pups run, and it's within walking distance of our house! Just head for the water tower and park in the lot next to it.

This is our favorite place to head on the weekend for a nice walk. Nice paved trail, but you feel totally immersed in the woods. Gorgeous creek running through, lots of wildlife.

This is the closest park to our house, just three blocks away. Super easy to get to, nice to run off some energy with the kids or pups :)

Beach, please!
You have to hike to get to the water, but if you're up for a little sweat this is hands down the best beach in the area. A lot less populated than the drive-in beaches. It's a 42 minute drive from our house, but WORTH IT!

The beach is right next to downtown Grand Haven so it's nice to make a day trip, get a meal in the downtown, walk over to the beach, etc. Be aware that the parking fills up early in the day, so plan ahead :)

South Harbor Drive~45 minutes from our house. Drive up beach (parking lot next to the water), lots of amenities right there. The beach is right next to downtown Grand Haven so it's nice to make a day trip, get a meal in the downtown, walk over to the beach, etc. Be aware that the parking fills up early in the day, so plan ahead :)

This is about 2 hours from us, but absolutely gorgeous if you're looking for a good day trip. Amazing trails, beautiful views, not too many people. It'll feed your soul <3
