Scout Scar is one of the famous Wainwrights, Walk starts at the back of the property through Serpentine Wood. This loop walk is about 10k and does have some steep gradients but on on the top the effort is rewarded with outstanding views of Kendal, Morecombe Bay and Grange over sands. Good walking shoes, pack lunch and drinks needed

This loop walk is about 10k and does have some steep gradients but on on the top the effort is rewarded with outstanding views of Kendal, Morecombe Bay and Grange over sands. Good walking shoes, pack lunch and drinks needed

While it looks close it is a 4.5 mile walk to get to the top from the property following the the River Mint which runs through Kendal is not only a great way to see Kendal but also good route to get to top of the Knott. Good way to spend a day, with plenty of pubs on the return journey for a welcome reward

The fit and brave can even access via a walking route starting at the rear of the property in serpentine wood (we had to get the train back !). Boats trips, great bars, restaurants and amazing scenic walking can be found on the lake shore. A real must if you intend to visit the area
