One of the newer sightseeing destinations is Crystal Caves located about 5 miles from Rum & Kai.
Situated in a lush tropical forest in Old Man Bay, Northside, Cayman Crystal Caves is the island’s newest nature tourist attraction.
All visitors receive guided walking tours. Tours are approximately 1 ½ hours and take you through the surrounding tropical forest area and 3 caves spectacular.
When you visit Cayman Crystal Caves, you will be escorted with a knowledgeable Tour Guide, and you will join us on an adventure exploration of “Cayman Down Under”. You will venture into amazing caves where you’ll see stalactite and stalagmite crystal structures and otherworldly formations, formed by single drops of water and the slow passage of time. Tour through the unique tropical forest nature, under which the caves formed. Amongst the forest and caves are captivating tropical plant and animal life, including strangler balsam trees, air plants, parrots, and bats….

Seven Mile Beach is about a 45 minute drive from Rum & Kai.
Named one of the Ultimate Beaches in the region by Caribbean Travel + Life, the 4th Best Beach in the Caribbean by Trip Advisor, and the 12th of the best beaches in the world by MSN, Seven Mile Beach is among the many reasons why Cayman is considered the ultimate destination. Situated on the western side of Grand Cayman, the area attracts travellers from all over the world. With sparkling waters and coral sands, this shoreline is home to many of the Caribbean's most luxurious properties.
The expansive waterfront here is open to the public, making it possible to walk the full length of the shore regardless of where you’re staying. The northern terminus trail head is about 15 minutes from Rum & Kai. One of the few hiking trails on the island.
Head out on this 4.6-mile out-and-back trail near Old Man Bay. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 2 hours to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.
No trip to Grand Cayman would be complete without exploring some of the last remaining untouched old-growth forests of the Caribbean. Located in the interior Mastic Reserve, The Mastic Trail is one of several natural heritage sites managed by the National Trust for the Cayman Islands. The trail is 2.3 miles long and the guided walk takes approximately two and a half to three hours. Along the trail, walkers will learn about rare trees including an exceptionally fine specimen of a Mastic tree, from which the Reserve and Trail take their name. Cayman's native Parrot is at home in the Reserve, as is the West Indian Woodpecker, Caribbean Dove, and a number of other bird species. Butterflies, snakes (not poisonous), frogs, crabs and lizards are a few of the animals walkers may encounter. Guided Tours are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday mornings by reservation only.
