Three great dining options in one beautiful location about 1 mile from Rum & Kai. Rated as one of the 50 best restaurants in the Caribbean - Known for their monthly full moon Luna del Mar dinners and everyday dining. Kaibo Beach Espresso is a community coffee house, serving single-source fair-trade organic coffee with a freshly baked light breakfast menu. Iced cold-brew and artisan espresso drinks are a speciality. Perfect stop if walking to Starfish Beach in the morning. Open Saturdays and Sundays from 8am – 12pm. Kaibo Beach Restaurant is the place to chill, in palm-fronded shade, with your toes in the sand, and cold coconut in hand. Part thatched beach cabana with and a generous dose of Caribbean beach chic – you’re in for an aesthetic treat at this Cayman beachfront restaurant with outdoor grill and wood-fired pizza oven. Casual fine dining is the style; locally sourced ingredients, with simple preparation and amazing flavours. The creative 2 and 3 course menus are a comforting crowd pleaser, and available lunch and dinner. There are also seasonal specials available. Children are very welcome and get their own menu. This downstairs beach bar offers toes in the sand daily lunch and dinner with a popular bar scene. Burgers, curried grouper and pizza are some favorites. Their Mudslides are excellent too! Weekly Beach BBQ in season is a fun time. Currently Open Wednesdays through Sundays 12pm – 7pm ‘Upstairs at Kaibo’ , is a regal and refined restaurant, where grand plantation house design meets its match in the kitchen. Diners enjoy the spectacular sea view, making for the perfect island waterfront dining experience. Explore Cayman’s most extensive rare rum bar (ask for a sample of Busted Barrel Rum - one of our contributions to the collection) and disappear into an oversized couch in the lounge. Open Friday and Saturday evenings only. Menus available online.

A true local establishment that warmly welcomes tourists. Beautifully situated overlooking the water on Grand Cayman's North Side, Over The Edge offers local cuisine in a casual atmosphere with affordable prices. All of our vegetables are grown on our farm by people we know and trust, and used when they are at their best. Our seafood is locally sourced and caught fresh daily. Located across the street from Crystal Caves is a great food truck stand with some of the freshest farm to table Local and Tex/Mex entrees around. Know before you Go: They have great Smoothies and they also deliver! A pursuit of a dream led founder Huey Crawford to open his own island themed grill. Tired of the same old fast food options and disappointed with the over-priced restaurants, Huey decided to make his own local dishes, some Mexican classics, and some really good pizza! After experimenting with a blend of different herbs and spices, local produce, farm to table, and the freshest ingredients, Huey was finally satisfied with his unique menu of tacos, pizza, local and Mexican favourites. The sauces make the best tacos and burritos ever. But, not to leave out his vegetarian friends, Huey was sure to include plenty of vegetarian options on his menu. After teaming up with CEO Tracy Ebanks in 2013, the two perfected the menu. We offer delivery and catering options for all types of events. http://www.islandbites.ky/

The bioluminescent bay is one of Grand Cayman's most popular night-time tourist attractions. and it is literally across the street from Rum & Kai. Various companies offer tours in boats and kayaks. We enjoyed Cayman Kayaks trip. The concentration of the plankton fluctuates every week due to weather and tides and is best observed on the darkest nights with no moon. If you opt to jump in the water, please be advised that small jellyfish can be an issue in the summer months, and use of a full body wetsuit is advised. https://caymankayaks.com/ https://www.sweetspotwatersports.com/bioluminescence-tour/

Starfish Point is a secluded beach in Grand Cayman that has a lot of starfish. Located about 1.5 miles from Rum & Kai, just past the Kaibo Beach Bar. The water here is very shallow, and then drops off to about 10 feet deep. Most of the starfish are in the deeper area, but they move into the shallow areas occasionally. Over the last 5 to 10 years, Starfish Point has become a popular tourist attraction, with more companies offering boat tours here, typically alongside their Stingray City tours. Free to visit with a small parking lot and a porta-potty. Know before you Go: Makes a great morning walk destination if you are so inclined.

Seven Mile Beach is about a 45 minute drive from Rum & Kai. Named one of the Ultimate Beaches in the region by Caribbean Travel + Life, the 4th Best Beach in the Caribbean by Trip Advisor, and the 12th of the best beaches in the world by MSN, Seven Mile Beach is among the many reasons why Cayman is considered the ultimate destination. Situated on the western side of Grand Cayman, the area attracts travellers from all over the world. With sparkling waters and coral sands, this shoreline is home to many of the Caribbean's most luxurious properties. The expansive waterfront here is open to the public, making it possible to walk the full length of the shore regardless of where you’re staying. Taking a stroll, you’ll stumble on restaurants at the resorts and several beach bars. Seven Mile Beach encompasses so many different activities, too. Whether you want to work on your tan and watch the waves roll in, or partake in some parasailing, Seven Mile Beach gives you every chance to enjoy what Cayman is all about. Seven Mile Beach is surrounded by several popular attractions as well. You can peruse the Seven Mile Shops or snorkel /scuba dive in the peaceful seas around Cemetery Reef. Cayman’s capital, George Town, is also close by. Know before you Go: We prefer to visit the Governor's Beach and Cemetary Beach sections of Seven Mile Beach for the shade and fewer fellow beach goers. Beach chairs and coolers are in the unit for your use.

About 30 minutes from Rum & Kai is Spotts Beach. Bring your picnic and your swimming gear and park yourself under the palm trees or one of the cabanas for some shade. Among the island’s more tranquil destinations is the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, which includes three main attractions – the Visitor’s Centre, the Floral Garden, and the Heritage Garden. This park is also home to the endangered Grand Cayman Blue Iguana and a two-acre lake that serves as a habitat for native birds and other rare wildlife species. The Visitor’s Centre was constructed to model historical Caribbean architecture. It features beautifully crafted wooden shutters, wide verandas and a gorgeous courtyard.. Here, visitors will find parking, information, and a gift shop and a café. The Floral Garden is a magnificently multi-coloured mosaic, with hundreds of different species of tropical and sub-tropical plants spread over 2.5 acres. The entrance is a stunning view of pink roses, green Caladiums, Anderson Crepe Hibiscus, and other exotic plants. An ornate white wooden gazebo is the centrepiece that completes the picturesque environment. Guests can relax beneath the shade or enjoy the sound of a gently cascading waterfall as they stroll through the spectacularly well-maintained garden. The Botanical Gardens are also the site of the Blue Iguana Conservation Facility, a captive breeding facility and test site for the endangered Blue Iguana population. The Blue Iguana is only found on the island of Grand Cayman. A tour of the Blue Iguana Conservation’s captive breeding facility offers an up-close-and-personal view of the Blue Iguana (Cyclura lewisi), Grand Cayman’s largest native land animal. The tour introduces guests to some of the programme’s star breeders and shares the fascinating tale of how the programme began in 1990, with only 30 dedicated Blue Iguanas, under the direction of conservationist Fred Burton. Today, the breeding facility is home to approximately 100 Blue Iguanas of varying ages, many over five-feet long and in excess of 25 pounds. https://www.botanic-park.ky/

The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) was established to showcase the visual arts of the Cayman Islands. Although created in 1966, the museum didn’t find its permanent home until 2012. With its vast space, the coordinators were finally able to house all of its programs and exhibitions under one roof. Today, visitors can explore the diverse space, which features several exhibition areas, a library, art studio, multi-purpose room, the Art Café, and an auditorium. On the second level of the gallery they feature their permanent Cayman art collection, which rotates often, and on the first level they showcase their always-changing temporary exhibitions. Hiking

Not much hiking on Grand Cayman, but here is some information to help you explore.
The northern terminus trail head is about 15 minutes from Rum & Kai. One of the few hiking trails on the island. Head out on this 4.6-mile out-and-back trail near Old Man Bay. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 2 hours to complete. This trail is great for birding, hiking, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. No trip to Grand Cayman would be complete without exploring some of the last remaining untouched old-growth forests of the Caribbean. Located in the interior Mastic Reserve, The Mastic Trail is one of several natural heritage sites managed by the National Trust for the Cayman Islands. The trail is 2.3 miles long and the guided walk takes approximately two and a half to three hours. Along the trail, walkers will learn about rare trees including an exceptionally fine specimen of a Mastic tree, from which the Reserve and Trail take their name. Cayman's native Parrot is at home in the Reserve, as is the West Indian Woodpecker, Caribbean Dove, and a number of other bird species. Butterflies, snakes (not poisonous), frogs, crabs and lizards are a few of the animals walkers may encounter. Guided Tours are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday mornings by reservation only. Please see The National Trust’s website or call the main office to book your space on one of Cayman's best kept secret tours! https://nationaltrust.org.ky/our-work/environmental/mastic-trail/ Know before you Go: Closed toe shoes, water and insect repellent are a must. Can be muddy if there have been recent rains.

Personalized Do you want to fit in as many experiences and sites as possible or have a relaxed pace of cruising, swimming, and basking in the sun? No problem, it’s your day, you set the pace. We’ll tailor your charter just for you. Adventure Assurance If bad weather or ship change cancels your adventure and we can’t reschedule, you’ll receive a full refund. Plus, if bad weather cuts your adventure short, we’ll give you a partial refund so that you only pay for the time you actually have. https://crazycrabcayman.com/
