The urban legend says that the Soviets offered the Warsaw authorities a subway or this palace, and they chose the palace 馃檪 and so now our entire subway system consists of only ~30 stations, as the construction started in the 1990s 馃檪 You can have a ride all the way up to the viewing terrace and see a panorama of Warsaw

On the square is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, remains of the royal Saski Palace, now commemorating all unnamed soldiers lost during WW2. On the other side of the square, you will see the Metropolitain building made almost entirely out of glass, designed by Norman Foster, sitting right next to the building housing our National Opera since the 19th century

Star贸wka, fully demolished during WW2, it was restored in the 1950s based on 19th century paintings by an Italian painter called Canaletto. Highly touristic (few locals) but a nice walk to check out a piece of older history
