The capital of the Norfolk Broads. There is a good selection of shops in Wroxham, the most famous one being Roys of Wroxham, probably the largest village store in the country. It offers a huge range of merchandise from clothes, toys, garden equipment, plants, books, home-ware, electrical goods, as well as an excellent supermarket, and is open seven days a week. It also has a McDonalds restaurant within the store.

Potter Heigham is a characterful Norfolk Broads village located between the towns of Stalham and Acle. The village is on the north bank of the River Thurne and has navigational access to Hickling Broads, Heigham Sounds and Horsey Mare waters upstream. Potter Heigham has two bridges, one of which is a medieval bridge, believed to date from 1385 and is famous for being the most difficult to navigate on the Broads, many a windscreen has come adrift under its stones. The bridge opening is so narrow that only small cruisers can pass through it and then only at low water, usually with the help of a pilot. There is a small fee to pay for safe passage under the arch. Potter Heigham is also a hub for hire craft and there are plenty of moorings available both on the 24 hour free bank or in the marina. Potter Heigham has good shopping and excellent cafes making for a great day out, eating, drinking and entertainment, which is watching the boats navigate their way under the bridge.
