Welcome information

Welcome to 6 Tullochs Buildings! Thank you for choosing to stay with us. The building dates back to 1870. It is a very unusual ‘colonial’ design - there isn’t another building like it in the Highlands.

Keys and flat access

Your key is in the lockbox. The lockbox is a black ‘master lock’ metal box, attached to the wall beside the front door. The code is available in the 'Airbnb' app 48 hours before your check-in. The flat door has just one lock, which locks automatically when you pull the door shut. So please be careful not to lock yourself out! When you check-out, please leave the key on the kitchen table.

Instructions for using cooker: • Make sure the cooker is turned on at the socket on the wall. The five dials on the left hand-side operate the gas hobs – push in the appropriate dial and turn anti-clockwise to the lowest flame, and hold until it ignites. • The three dials on the right hand side operate the electric oven. To operate the oven, turn the timer dial on the far right hand side to the left (please note, the timer itself does not work). Choose your temperature using the temperature dial. Please feel free to play our guitars. You are also welcome to look at the books, but please don’t take them away with you. There are fairy lights on the shelves. These can be turned on and off using the small remote provided (on the entry table). To turn on and off, please point the remote to the plug behind the sofa. For safety reasons, please do not open the window in the living room. If it’s left open, somebody could break in to the flat.

Washing facilities

Guests are welcome to use the washing machine. Unfortunately, we do not have a dryer. But we have plenty of wind outside! There is a communal washing line in the back garden. There are pegs if you’d like to hang out washing. If it raining outside, there is a clotheshorse. The washing machine has a quick cycle called ‘Daily Quick 30.’ It takes around 30 minutes. The other cycles are longer, and take around 2 hours. The washing machine, washing detergent, clotheshorse, pegs, iron and ironing board are all in the hall cupboard beside the bathroom.

Bathroom

We ask that guests do not flush baby wipes or sanitary products down the toilet, as it may break the toilet’s macerator. This is an old building, so the plumbing is a little ‘quirky’. Sometimes the toilet gets blocked – there is a blue plastic plunger in the hall cupboard. To turn on the shower, turn the top knob 90° to the left.

Heating

The heating is programmed to come on in the morning and in the evening. If you would like to change the temperature, please message us.
