PANIFICIO AMALIA – Fresh bread (pane) baked daily & groceries (generi alimentari)
Amalia sells bread baked on the premises by husband Toni, and also stocks grocery staples such as milk, butter, eggs, pasta, prepared pasta sauce, tea, coffee, local cheese, cold cuts, and bottled beer, along with cleaning products and toilet paper. Fresh Gnocchi is available on Thursdays.
Typical breakfast rolls offered are called ‘Rosette’ – light, crusty and hollow; ideal for enjoying with butter or conserve at breakfast time. For other meals, rolls such as ‘Ciabatta’ or the smaller ‘Ciabattini’ keep for longer, especially if stored in plastic and then re-crusted on top of the toaster – ideal for supplementing an evening meal. In the tourist season, English-style soft rolls ‘Morbido’ (literally: soft) are also baked. Pre-packaged commercial sliced bread is also stocked.
