Florioz has been taken over by the owner’s ex-wife (scandal!) and is still going strong but is now called (not so memorably) "Le Tsirouc".
Just to the south of the Bendolla lift station (left as you look at it from below) Claudio has opened an Italian restaurant where he sells good wines. Some Italian food also available. The host, Claudio, is a lovely guy and most welcoming.

Walk down through the old village to the tourist office and find out what's going on the week you are in Grimentz. Take in the 500 year old village houses in narrow, cobbled and vehicle-free streets as you do so.

Spectacular scenery, in winter for ski-touring and in summer for hiking and MTB. Lovely gite at the end of the valley serves simple Swiss food, with wine and beer. They take credit cards, even though they are in the wilderness!

Great food and drinks at good prices. The bread is lovely - particularly the BioPagnol - and the croissants fly out of the door in the mornings.

Best place to rent your skis/snowboarding equipment. Ask for Florent the owner and tell him that we sent you.
In the summer you can rent good quality MTBs and bikes at Do Sports. Florent is a rider and knows about his bikes. If you ride an English set up (left brake is rear) he may be prepared to swap the brakes for your rental period). Ask Iain about routes, plentiful for experienced riders.
