Parks & Nature

Most people show up here with the idea that Angels landing is the best hike in the Park. While it might be exciting…It’s often extremely busy, making it overhyped. Instead of doing Angels Landing I would recommend hiking to Scouts lookout, and then turning back to continue on the West Rim trail. The views are spectacular and offer their own type of exposure, with the bonus of almost NO crowds. For information on this hike look up “Joes Hiking Guide Zion West Rim bottom up day hike” The best big view in the National park is Observation Point. It stands nearly 1000 feet taller than Angels Landing and offers spectacular canyon views. If you have the energy and motivation, tackle this hike

Our Story When Hank and Kathy Moore were traveling through Europe, Italy, and France, they always chose outdoor eateries and thought how nice they were. Upon returning to the states, they were traveling through Zion National Park and stopped at Oscar’s Cafe. At that time, the cafe was a small town walk-up and order eatery. Hank met the owner and casually said, "if you ever want to sell this place, I’ll buy it." The next day the original owner called Hank and took him up on his offer. Twenty-one years later, the cafe is a full-service restaurant and is happy to be a part of the Springdale community.

Arts & Culture

Some of my favorite childhood memories are of exploring the woods and fishing before school early in the morning at the lakes and ponds near my home in northern New Jersey. My love of being surrounded by nature came first, then my passion for capturing in a photograph to share with others. My father, a professional portrait photographer, introduced me to the joy and art of photography at an early age. After taking some classes on photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, I decided to explore the world with my camera in hand. No where else inspired me more than the Western United States, with it's rugged mountains, mysterious deserts, and vast oceans. Through my photography
