Local walks
There is a lovely 2 hour walk to Nayland starting from the footpath on our farm. It winds down to the base of the valley and a brief section of road takes you across the A134 to Caley Green at Nayland with ducks and swans aplenty.
If you keep the river on your left and follow it along until the path splits off left you can walk back along the far side of the river along the community island to Nayland weir. Carry on and at the next road you can take a break at the Anchor pub on another section of river before walking further around the island and heading back the way you came in 1.5 hrs. You can also do a longer trip via a footpath on the left after you cross the A134 back. It will take you past Wiston mill and the Norman church St Mary’s with a painted dragon. Head out up the lane and back up the valley side to Smoky Farm.

Beautiful church a product of the wool trade wealth of old Suffolk. Great butcher with locally produced meat and stalked venison. The Parlour is a must with delicious ice cream!
