Great retailer to buy homemade local jams, jellies, etc. All is made on site. Established in 1934, House of Webster celebrated their 80th anniversary in 2014. That gave us an opportunity to take a look at our rich history... The company was started by the husband and wife team Roy and Evelynn Webster. Roy worked his local newspaper route and sold milk, cakes, donuts, pies and other delicious items baked by his wife. By 1941, the Webster family and their delicious homemade goods were being sold to a local Freight company as gifts to their employees at the holidays. This began the long tradition of gifting at House of Webster. As we hit our stride in 2016 and beyond, House of Webster continues to produce the highest quality jams, jellies, preserves, fruit spreads, fruit butters, relishes, salsas, mustards, syrups, BBQ sauces and pickled products. We continue to feature our delicious products in many unique gourmet food gifts.

Nestled in a woodland setting, Thorncrown Chapel rises forty-eight feet into the Ozark sky. This magnificent wooden structure contains 425 windows and over 6,000 square feet of glass. It sits atop over 100 tons of native stone and colored flagstone, making it blend perfectly with its setting. The chapel's simple design and majestic beauty combine to make it what critics have called "one of the finest religious spaces of modern times." Since the chapel opened in 1980, over seven million people have visited this woodland sanctuary. Designed by renowned architect E. Fay Jones, Thorncrown has won numerous architectural awards such as the American Institute of Architects’ Design of the Year Award for 1981 and AIA’s prestigious 25 Year Award. Additionally, members of the American Institute of Architects placed Thorncrown Chapel fourth on its list of the top buildings of the twentieth century. Thorncrown Chapel is located on Highway 62 West just outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. There is no admission fee, but donations are accepted. We have ample parking for buses and RVs. So, while in the Ozarks, stop by what many have called one of the most beautiful and inspiring chapels in the world. https://thorncrown.com/

War Eagle Mill HISTORY SINCE 1832 War Eagle Mill’s exciting history begins with the story of a tenacious pioneer couple, Sylvanus and Catherine Blackburn, who understood the importance of fresh, natural food in the lives of families as far back as 1832 when the first Mill was built. After the house was completed, the couple turned their attention to planting corn in the fertile bottomlands of the creek valley. But with the closest Mill to grind their corn being located in Richand, 25 miles away, the Blackburn’s quickly recognized the need for a gristmill. The War Eagle Creek would provide the perfect energy source to grind grain into flour. It didn’t take long for the surrounding neighbors to bring their own corn to Sylvanus for grinding, and a community was built around all that the Mill had to offer. In 1848, a heavy rainy season flooded the entire valley and the Mill was pushed into the river, washed downstream and was totally destroyed. As soon as the water receded, Sylvanus and Catherine were determined to rebuild the Mill. They expanded the structure to mill lumber in addition to milling grain. In 1862, the Union Army moved into northern Arkansas and the War Eagle Valley and used the Mill to grind grain for food. When the Union soldiers heard that the Confederate Army was advancing into the area, they picked up and went to Pea Ridge, Arkansas. For two days, the Confederate soldiers used the Mill, but their military position was so unstable that a confederate general ordered that the Mill be burned to the ground to prevent it being used again by the Union. Chaos ensued after the horrific Battle of Pea Ridge, and the entire county and surrounding areas where laid waste by the retreating Confederates and bands of looters. Fayetteville and Bentonville, AR would be the first U.S. cities to be destroyed by fire during the war. With crops destroyed and the Mill in ashes, food shortages would force many residents abandon their homesteads and flee. https://www.wareaglemill.com/

Drive or fly in

Yes, Lost Bridge Village has its own air strip. Many people who own private planes use this air strip. Most folks drive and you will need GPS to find the house. The road to the house is windy and has cliffs so you will want to drive carefully.
