Vervoersmogelijkheden

Kolkata is known for extremely affordable public transport

It's a very well connected city - plenty of buses and autos and taxis (public as well as private like Uber and Ola). The tram lines are present in a few areas to preserve a slice of history. Car rentals are also available. Reach out to us for any questions or guidance!
Wat je moet meenemen

Easy Breezy clothes!

This is a typically hot and humid city in the tropical zone on the banks of a river and less than 50 Kms from the Bay of Bengal. Unless you're travelling between Dec-Feb, you can expect it to be quite humid. It is a good idea to pack light cotton/linen clothes, carry sun screen and some headgear (hat/cap/scarf) if you are particularly susceptible to heat. Always keep a light hand towel and a bottle of water handy.

Durga Puja (Festival)

This festival draws people from all over the country and the world. It celebrates the strength of the Goddess Durga through beautiful displays in each neighbourhood. It's one of a kind and should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. It occurs sometime between October-November. You will have to check the dates for each year as this is based on Indian calendars. It's a time for festive fun, great street food (even better than usual), new clothes, music, dance and community!
