Friedenau, a leafy residential area made up of beautifully preserved period apartment buildings, has a laid back feel and is still well connected to all parts of Berlin both by car and public transport. Frequent trains (U-Bahn) and a metro like circular overground train are only a 10 min walk away and there is a bus two minutes from the apartment taking you directly to Berlin, Alexanderplatz. Kurfürstendamm is four stops away by Underground or a short Uber ride which rarely sets you back more than 8 EUR.

"Wunderbar" Chinese Restaurant on Bernhardstr. 12 is so authentic it has Chinese as a language option on its website and I would have not ever found it in its tucked away location without the recommendation of a Chinese doctor. Menu can be found under www.wunderbar-essen.de. They also do a private chef service. The restaurant room is unfortunately quite uncomfotable, so take away will be the better option.
