A lovely half day out. We enjoyed the audio tour and found it extremely interesting, but don't do this on a wet day as it's all outside.

A lovely little museum (particularly if the weather is poor). Very interesting flooring and artefacts.

On a beautiful day there is so much to see from walking around the top of the Canterbury city wall, whether you do it all or just a part of it, it no longer reaches all the way around the city but the bits you can walk shouldn't be missed

Family Day Out

A great family day out. Visit a great selection of animals, the lemurs are our favourite. There are parks for the children to play in and several places to eat.

A stunning location for a walk. In the Spring the bluebells are breath-taking. You can walk your dog and children here! Enjoy the tranquility and fresh air and maybe even see some of the local wildlife. Kings Wood is famous for it's fallow deer (will you see a white one?) There are also cycle paths and bridle ways here. Why not take a picnic?

Stunning gardens making it a lovely place to go for a walk. If your luck enough to get a tour of the house too then there is so much you can learn (the kids really enjoyed it).

A whole day day packed with fun, activity and history for the whole family. The castle itself is full of exciting history and the activity cards keep the kids entertained and participating in the visit. The grounds are stunning, with well planted gardens, lots of duck and swans (including the famous black ones) and open spaces for you to take your own picnic, alternatively you can enjoy one of the cafes on route to the end where there is a huge maze to get lost in and of course a kids play park so you can enjoy a nice cuppa before making the walk back again, don't worry there are different routes there and back so you don't need to see the same thing twice; alternatively you can take advantage of the boat trip across the lake or the land train...

A lovely Italian restaurant owned by a young couple who have a real passion for food. You won't find pizza here but lots of other even more delicious dishes.

A historic city filled with tourist attractions, shops and restaurants. It has the most amazing atmosphere in the run up to Christmas with it's street stalls and lights, it's simply magical.

A quaint old town that is lovely for a slow pace wander. Whether you meander through the town, which hosts a market most days or take a leisurely walk along the Creek this town is well worth a visit.

The most haunted village, or so it's alleged. Beautiful little village in the heart of the country with a pretty church that featured in the 'Darling Buds of May'.

Shopping

Allow plenty of time to browse the shops, there are plenty to choose from and lots of bargains to be had. Don't worry there are places to pause for a coffee or sneaky cake, or maybe a larger lunch to keep you going for the afternoon!

Vineyards

Only open on a Saturday but so worth a visit, there wine is delicious and should not be missed. I believe you can arrange a tour of their vineyard, although I haven't done it. A small family run vineyard. Such lovely people.

Chapel Down started out as a much smaller company than they now are. But Chapel is one of my favourite local vineyards for a tour, of course this is finished off by tasting some of their delicious wines, not only do they have the wines they make at the local vineyard in Tenterden but also others from there other sites in the UK. There is also a restaurant here that is well worth a visit.
