This is a healing well. It is NOT a wishing well so please do NOT throw coins in the clean spring. It works like this: sore foot? Tie a cotton sock to a twig and as it rots away so your foot will get better. Bad headaches? Hang your woollen bonnet on a tree... and so on. Emphasis on natural materials but now nylon means nothing rots as it once did. In the distant past Travellers used to come and take the rags away to be used in paper manufacture but alas such recycling is no longer carried out.
Vee reckons it works, but she is not telling you what she hung up there!

Gorgeous wee museum which is really more of a Museum of Highland Childhood. Toys but also myths and legends of childhood here. Suitable for children from 8 to 108! The museum is located in a beautifully conserved railway station with a nice cafe next door.

It is aptly named - the peat makes the water as dark as Cocacola and the drumming falls make it frothy. Lovely walk there and back about a mile in all but a steepish pull on the way back. Free. Better than the more commercialised Falls of Shin further north.

Never mess about on or with our mountains. Sections of this mountain are very steep. Views from the top out of this world. You may see ptarmigan, grouse, deer and golden eagles.

Never mess about on or with our mountains. Sections of this mountain are very steep. Views from the top out of this world. You may see ptarmigan, grouse, deer and golden eagles.
