Very happy to find this place, recommended to us by our hotel. We had the fried rice, deep fried chicken and the oriental mixed wok. Enjoyed all the vegetables in the dishes which were all very tasty. The service was friendly and the food arrived promptly.

Milk is the smartest bar we found is Alesund. It overlooks the harbour and if the sun is out, as it was when we visited, you also get to see a stunning sunset. There is a good selection of cocktails and wines, service was friendly and efficient. Milk is a bit expensive (even by Norwegian standards) but you get what you pay for.

There is a good selection of cocktails and wines, service was friendly and efficient. Milk is a bit expensive (even by Norwegian standards) but you get what you pay for.
Entertainment & Activities
Only a few minutes by car from the center of Ålesund, you find Atlanterhavsparken, one of the largest Saltwater-Aquariums in northern Europe.
The Atlanterhavsparken is one of the most particular Aquariums in Europe. The Aquarium is built into the coastal landscape at Tueneset, the coastline west in Ålesund. Study the large landscape tanks that unfiltrted shows life in sea along the Norwegian coast and in the Atlantic Ocean. This is the Norwegian Aquarium.
Through the day there are several activities, check the activityprogram. Be fascinated by the hectic activity in the largest tank when the diver enters to hand-feed the fish every day at 13 o'clock (from June - August also at 15.30). And

The Atlanterhavsparken is one of the most particular Aquariums in Europe. The Aquarium is built into the coastal landscape at Tueneset, the coastline west in Ålesund. Study the large landscape tanks that unfiltrted shows life in sea along the Norwegian coast and in the Atlantic Ocean. This is the Norwegian Aquarium.

A combination of beautiful scenery, a beautifully designed peaceful coastal culture and the very special close to the sea has made Alnes's lighthouse a tourist magnet.
In 1936, a new angular iron tower, 22.5m high, was built. This type of tower is relatively rare in Norway.
In the "old guardroom" in the second corner of the guard house there is a permanent exhibition showing the historical development of Alnes Lighthouse and glimpses from the local fishing and peasant community from the last century until about 1960.
In October 2016 we opened our new adventure center at Alnes Fyr. The new center has a whole year-old café with homemade cakes and traditional food, as well as a magnificent g

Sukkertoppen (Sugar Loaf Top) is, bar none, Ålesund's most popular mountain. The top is located on the island Hessa, which together with the islands Aspøya and Nørvøya defines the heart of Ålesund - the largest city in Møre og Romsdal county.
Although lower, the mountain resembles in many ways Lyderhorn outside Bergen. Without having checked the historic facts, it is reasonable to assume that Sukkertoppen was part of the coastal defense (the signal-fires) initiated back in the Viking age. The views from the top are extensive, and Ålesund is "blessed" having such a viewpoint just outside its city center.
