The QM seems really touristy, and it can be, but it is visited for good reason. We go all the time as locals too. There is an amazing buffet (pre covid) a haunted ghost tour that is also just a tour of the workings of the ship good for people who like either, and endless decks and views to explore and enjoy. It is a piece of history and worth checking out!

For the price of a public transit fare, a trip on the aqua bus is a neat way to get around Long Beach that is cheap and is a sightseeing experience on its own

Metro one block away
The metro goes everywhere and a car is not necessary to stay here. The metro goes to LA, and from there, connects to everything. I can't put a link here but if you look up "LA Metro" you'll get maps, timetables and more
