There’s ample parking and a gorgeous boardwalk on the shores of beautiful Ramsey Lake. This is the largest fresh water lake completely surrounded by a city!

About a 15 min drive from our home, also about 15 mins from Science North, Dynamic Earth focuses on the geological history of the area and mining. Home to the famous Big Nickel and with many interactive displays/activities, it’s great for all ages. You can buy tickets to both Science North and Dynamic earth together. One full day is lots of time to visit each.

Located right in the middle of Sudbury, this ski hill is actually pretty decent with a high speed quad lift, rentals and full service chalet. Good hill for beginner to intermediate skiers/boarders and has a bunny hill. About a 10 minute drive from our home.

This is a great local park located in the middle of town on the shores of Lake Ramsey. There are many festivals held there throughout the Summer and a great sliding hill in the Winter as well as a huge skate path on the lake! The sunrises from the main gazebo are spectacular. The brightly coloured old hospital was done in 2019 as the second largest single mural in Canada by artist Risk Rock out of Los Angeles as part of our “Up Here” festival. There are plans to turn it into an apartment complex eventually.
